Key Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate a Heavy Goods Vehicle (Class 1 or Class 2) on designated routes, primarily from the Basildon SS14 base, adhering to all Driver's Hours and Working Time Regulations.
• Complete multi-drop deliveries and collections, ensuring all paperwork (delivery notes, PODs, tachograph charts/digital records) is accurately completed and processed in a timely manner.
• Conduct thorough daily vehicle checks (walk-around checks) and report any defects or maintenance requirements immediately to the transport office, maintaining the vehicle to a high standard.
• Securely load and unload goods, which may involve the use of tail-lifts and/or working with warehouse teams, ensuring cargo is properly restrained and weight is distributed correctly.
• Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, representing both the client and Quick Placement professionally at all times, and effectively communicating any delays or issues.

What We're Looking For

• A full, valid UK Cat C (Class 2) or Cat C+E (Class 1) HGV driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points, and a valid Driver CPC card.
• Proven experience as an HGV Driver, with a solid understanding of tachograph rules, vehicle safety, and UK road transport legislation. Experience with multi-drop work is highly advantageous.
• A strong commitment to health and safety, with a clean driving record and a professional, reliable, and punctual attitude. You must be physically fit for manual handling aspects of the role.
