Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties

As the onsite Parking Attendant, your core duties will ensure the car park functions seamlessly, safely, and profitably. You will be expected to:

• Manage Vehicle Flow & Space Allocation: Direct incoming and outgoing traffic efficiently, especially during peak hours at the port or town centre, to prevent congestion and maximise space utilisation. This requires a similar proactive mindset to that of a Banksman on a construction site.
• Process Payments & Enforce Parking Regulations: Operate pay-and-display machines or digital payment systems, issue valid tickets, and politely but firmly enforce parking terms and conditions, including time limits.
• Provide Outstanding Customer Service: Act as an ambassador for the site, offering clear directions, answering queries about local amenities, and assisting vulnerable users or those with specific needs.
• Conduct Security & Safety Patrols: Perform regular foot patrols of the car park to monitor for any safety hazards, suspicious activity, or maintenance issues (like lighting or surface defects), reporting them promptly via the correct channels.
• Maintain Cleanliness & Basic Groundskeeping: Ensure the car park environment is tidy, emptying litter bins and reporting major spills. This aspect shares common ground with roles like General Labourer or Caretaker duties.
• Handle Minor Disputes & Incidents: Manage low-level conflicts with diplomacy, complete accurate incident report forms when necessary, and liaise with site management or security as per protocol.
