Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Execute all aspects of solid plastering to walls and ceilings, including backing coats and finishing coats, to a high standard on new build and refurbishment sites.
- Skillfully apply skim coating over plasterboard to create perfectly smooth, paint-ready surfaces, demonstrating an eye for detail.
- Prepare surfaces correctly, including dot and dabbing, bonding, and the use of appropriate primers and sealers.
- Work efficiently both independently and as part of a site team, coordinating with other trades such as groundworkers, carpenters, and electricians to maintain project timelines.
- Adhere strictly to all site Health & Safety regulations, including safe use of tools, mixing equipment, and working at height, maintaining a clean and tidy work area.
- Interpret drawings and specifications to ensure work meets the required technical and aesthetic standards.
Essential Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven Experience: Minimum of 3 years' professional experience as a Plasterer, with a strong portfolio of completed work, ideally on commercial or high-spec residential projects.
- Relevant Certifications: A valid CSCS Card is essential. Additional certifications such as IPAF, PASMA, or Asbestos Awareness are highly advantageous.
- Tool Proficiency: Must have your own reliable hand tools (trowels, hawks, mixing paddle etc.). Power tools may be provided.
- Physical Fitness & Mobility: The role involves manual handling, working at height, and being on your feet for extended periods. You must be physically fit for the demands of the job.
- Right to Work: Must have full, unrestricted right to work in the UK. We will conduct thorough compliance checks as part of our 7-step vetting process.
- Reliability: Punctuality, excellent timekeeping, and a strong work ethic are non-negotiable. Our clients depend on us for reliable emergency / rapid response staff.
- Communication: Good verbal communication skills in English to understand instructions and liaise with site managers and other trades.
