Job Description: CV / Audio-Visual (AV) Technician
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient CV / Audio-Visual (AV) Technician to support critical communication infrastructure within a major logistics hub in Leeds. This role is vital for maintaining the audio-visual systems that facilitate daily briefings, remote management meetings, training sessions, and security monitoring. The successful candidate will be responsible for the setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of a wide range of AV equipment, including video conferencing systems, digital displays, sound reinforcement, and control systems. Key Responsibilities & Duties
- System Setup & Installation: Configure and install AV hardware including projectors, LCD/LED screens, video walls, conference cameras, microphones, mixers, and control panels (Crestron, AMX, etc.) within meeting rooms and operational areas of the logistics hub.
- Operational Support & Event Management: Provide on-site and remote technical support for daily meetings, presentations, and corporate events. Ensure flawless operation of video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Teams, Cisco) for critical management communication.
- Preventative & Reactive Maintenance: Perform routine checks, firmware updates, and preventative maintenance on all AV assets. Diagnose and repair faults efficiently to minimise downtime in a 24/7 operational environment.
- Cable Management & Signal Flow: Manage complex cable runs for audio, video, control, and network signals. Troubleshoot signal path issues from source to display, ensuring high-quality output and compliance with health & safety standards.
- User Training & Documentation: Create simple user guides and provide basic training to staff on how to operate standard AV equipment. Maintain accurate inventory logs and service records for all managed equipment.
What We're Looking For (Requirements)
- Proven Technical Experience: Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience as a CV/AV Technician, Media Technician, or in a similar role, preferably within a corporate, educational, or large-scale facility environment. Experience in logistics or warehousing is a bonus.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong practical knowledge of audio systems (Dante, analogue), video systems (HDMI, SDI, resolution scaling), and control systems. Ability to read and interpret system schematic drawings.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills under pressure. The ability to act as Emergency / Rapid Response Staff for critical AV failures that could halt operations.
- Communication & Teamwork: Clear communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical staff. Ability to work independently and as part of a wider facilities or IT team.
- Certifications & Attributes: Relevant certifications (e.g., CTS, AVIXA) are advantageous but not essential. Must have a full UK driving licence and be willing to undergo a standard DBS check. A proactive, can-do attitude is essential.

For candidates who are immediately available and have all necessary documentation (right-to-work, etc.), a start within the same week is a common outcome. We specialise in rapid placement, much like our fast-track services for other sectors.
The initial placement is on a temporary basis, which allows both you and the client to ensure it's a good fit. However, for the right candidate who demonstrates skill and reliability, there is a strong possibility of the role converting to a permanent position (temp-to-perm). All specialist AV tools and equipment will be provided on-site by the client. However, having a basic multi-tool and personal protective equipment (safety shoes) is advisable. You will need reliable transportation to get to the Leeds Logistics Hub (LS9) for your shifts. While public transport serves the area, a full UK driving licence and your own vehicle are highly advantageous due to the site's size and potential out-of-hours call requirements.
